Production Incentive]]>

As of August 7, 2009, the Production Incentive for Atlantic Canada has been fully disbursed. As of September 3, 2009, Production Incentive program funds have been depleted for non-CBC projects in British Columbia, Yukon and Northwest Territories.

The Production Incentive Program was introduced as a pilot program in 2008-2009 to provide additional funding support to areas of Canada where English-language production volumes had declined more than 20% below their five-year historical average. The CTF monitors production activity in the following areas: -Atlantic Canada (includes: New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island); -Quebec; -Ontario and Nunavut; -The Prairies (includes: Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta); and -British Columbia, the Yukon and Northwest Territories. In 2008-2009, the CTF saw a decrease of 45% in Atlantic Canada and of 68.5% in British Columbia in production activity. As such, for 2009-2010, two Production Incentives have been allocated as follows: $1.9 million for Atlantic Canada and $8.1 million for British Columbia. The Production Incentive is a licence fee top-up that may be combined with funding from other CTF funding streams. Applicants may begin submitting applications on June 1, 2009 on a first-come, first-served basis until allocations are depleted or until the application deadline of December 7, 2009, whichever comes first. For more details on deadlines as well as program requirements, please view the 2009-2010 Production Incentive Program Guidelines below.
