These amounts were calculated based on broadcasters' performance relating to CTF-eligible programming (see the original BPE allocation amounts: BPE Allocations). The CBC/Radio-Canada, CBC News Network, RDI, and bold received 37% of available funds as their BPE.
Approved BPE stream applications, as of December 31, 2009, are shown below. Updates to the list of approved applications will be posted on this site periodically until the end of the fiscal year, when all approvals will be finalized. Please subscribe to our e-mail alerts to learn when updates are posted.
Note: Amounts are current to December 31, 2009. Figures are rounded.
In the first attachment below, approved applications have been organized by language and genre of production with summary totals. BPE contributions to Aboriginal-language productions are an exception, as they are listed under the language of BPE contribution. Each broadcaster's BPE contribution amount for a project is shown as well as the total BPE funding committed. Other broadcasters may have co-licenced the production without contributing CTF funding and would not be shown here. Projects receiving funds from the Production Incentive Program and the Quebec Regional French-language Production Incentive have the commitment amount illustrated. CBC/Radio-Canada has its own Production Incentive and Quebec Regional French-language Production Incentive envelopes. Total BPE funding shown for a project does not include any funding committed from the French-language Projects Outside Quebec or Aboriginal-language Projects streams. Lists of commitments from these streams can be found on the funding results page.
Results of transfers and exchanges between BPEs can be found in the second attachment below. Broadcasters within the same corporate group can transfer BPE amounts within the same language and genre (or between flex amounts). Broadcasters from different corporate groups can exchange equal BPE amounts within the same language and between two different genres (or the flex amount). Note that approved applications are shown with the amount committed from each BPE (there can be more than one), the applicant production company, region of production and total broadcast length. For inter-provincial co-productions, the region of control reflects the residence of the majority co-producer and the location of principal photography.
